These Ginger Snaps are the ultimate winter comfort cookie with their warm flavor... Another of my Grandmother's recipes.
Ginger Snaps Recipe
3/4 cup lard
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup molasses, fancy
1 egg
2 1/4 cup flour, All-Purpose
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. baking soda
Dipping sugar in a dish
1/3 cup white sugar
Cream lard with sugar and molasses. Add in the egg and stir in the rest until combined. The dough will be very thick. Once combined use a 3 tbsp. sized cookie scoop to make equal size balls. Roll each ball until smooth and round. Gently dip and press to flatten into the sugar in a dish. Place sugared, pressed cookie on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake at 350F for 9 minutes or longer if you like crunchy cookies.
