An easy make ahead breakfast idea. Bake it on a timer and it's ready when you get up in the morning. The flavor variety is almost endless. You can add a variety of fruits or chocolate... It can be eaten warm, cold or reheated.
Baked Oatmeal
2 cups quick oats
1 cup large flake oats
1 cup brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
½ cup butter, softened
½ cup milk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 apple, peeled and diced
Combine dry ingredients. Add softened butter, milk, beaten eggs, vanilla and apples Mix well. Grease a 9 x 9-inch cake pan, spread in the oats and bake uncovered for 20 to 25 minutes on 350℉.
Serve with milk for breakfast. Serves 5
NOTE: Leftovers can be refrigerated for several days and reheated in the microwave or eaten cold for breakfast.
